Below you will find the most frequently asked questions we get about working with our company. If there are additional questions you have please feel free to ask below in the contact box. We only ask you review this FAQ section fully before submitting additional questions.

Where are you located?

Our office is in Lee’s Summit Missouri

Can I call you and talk to someone on the phone?

Yes, but we don’t take calls in the beginning of the onboarding process. After you finish the onboarding, we will talk quite a bit as you learn the industry. The reason for this is simple. We get dozens of contractors requesting to work for us each day. Most don’t bother to finish any of the onboarding. We created this FAQ section to answer as many questions as we can for you. These are the most common things we get asked about. We understand you may want to talk to someone on the phone, we simply don’t have the time to take that many calls. At the bottom of this page is a contact box, if there is a question you need to ask that is not on this FAQ page. Please send us a message and we will respond. If we do not respond to your message it is because the question you asked is on this page. We are not trying to be rude or hard to work with, but it is very taxing on us to answer the same questions over and over.

How do I get paid?

We send out checks every Friday through Deluxe check. The Pay week is Thursday thru Wednesday. The check will arrive via email and can printed on regular paper. Deluxe does offer a direct deposit option, but there is a small fee involved.

When do I get paid?

Checks sent should arrive in your email around 6pm CST every Friday.

How much money will I make?

That will vary on several factors. How quickly you get orders done and how many foreclosures are in your area. Orders are sent to us Monday through Friday. We never know how many orders will come in each week. In bigger cities it’s not uncommon for a contractor to make $2000 and up in other areas a contractor may only get 2-3 orders a week. This is contracting work and not a job. We don’t make promises on volume or weekly pay amounts, only that we have regular work in your area.

How many hours a week and is this full-time work?

It will vary on the amount of work in your area. I would look at this opportunity as a complement to a business or job you already have. You can do this part time, but at the same time you could get very busy if foreclosures suddenly jump in your area.  The amount of money you can make will vary depending on your skillset, how quickly you learn, how well your jobs are completed and most importantly getting work turned in on time. You will be taking a lot of photos. We do have many contractors that work for us that we are their largest customer. We have other that we are only a small part of their customer base.

How far will I have to travel?

We expect a minimum radius of 25 miles from your house. If you can cover further out, you will likely get more orders. On some jobs we will pay you an extra fee to handle the order, based upon a prearranged amount.

How long will I have to turn in work orders?

You usually will have 72 hours or more to complete.  There is sometimes rush orders and we can get extensions on larger orders that we need more time on.

Do we pay mileage?

Only on work orders outside of your coverage area that we have pre-arrangements on. We try not to send you too far from your home in most cases.

How many people work for us?

At the time of this writing  we currently have over 78 active crews and another 37 that can receive orders. That number is constantly rising. This does not include specialty contractors we hire for plumbing, electrical, roofs, etc……

Am I an employee?

No, We only hire independent contractors who can handle jobs with their own tools under no direct supervision. We don’t watch over you and won’t tell you where to be and when. You will work on your own and can have people work with you if you like. Orders sent to you will have a due date, if you can’t get it on time or cannot perform the task. Let us know so we can reassign.

Will I receive a 1099?

If you make over $600 we are required by law to send one to you.

How do I get materials?

The easiest way is to purchase the materials yourself and upload the receipt to the work order for reimbursement. We also have accounts at most major box stores and can-do phone sales also. All orders should have PO number on them using the PPW number of the order you are performing. You can not put any kind of tools or food on the ticket.

What If I don’t know how to do a certain task?

I have 100’s of documents that show you exactly what to do. Also, I find YouTube is a great resource. No matter what we will figure out how to complete the task together.

Do you need to bid anything?

No, in this industry most items have pre-approved pricing set by the agency in charge, or they will want items to be put through a cost estimator. We handle all cost estimating in house. You just provide the pics of the issues you see with tape measurement photos.

What kinds of task do you need performed?

There is about 1000 items we perform. Some of the most common are grass cutting, changing locks, cleaning up trash, boarding windows and taking lots of photographs. If you don’t know how to do something but are willing to learn we will teach you.

What is the least amount I will be paid for a task?

Our minimum job starts at $20 (we call this a trip charge) and goes up from there. A trip charge is never in addition to the work performed; it can only be charged by itself unless pre approved arrangements are made. This is how we make sure you are compensated anytime we send you to a property.

Can I buy the houses?

Yes, but we do not have any special privilege in purchasing them. The only advantage we have is knowing about a foreclosure before it hits the open market and what issues the houses have. You will still need to purchase the foreclosure just like the public. I suggest using a local realtor.

Do we train you in person?

No, we do not, we will use some online training and infield training over the phone. You will upload photos to us from site which will review to see how you did in real time. We do this on your first few jobs to make sure you understand our process.

Will I be working with others?

No, you will work on your own, on your own schedule. You are an independent contractor free to make decisions

Do you reimburse for gas?

No, we will pay additional trip fees for orders performed far from your place of operations. These fees must be arranged in advance.

Can I have others work with me?

Yes, Since you are an independent contractor you can have anyone you want work with you. There are some things you need to be made aware of. You can not have anyone under the age of 18 on our client properties. You can not have anyone convicted of a felony in the last 5 years on client properties.

Do I need insurance?

Most states allow self employed individuals to opt out of workers compensation insurance. However, if you have employees you will need to provide a copy of your insurance. If you have no employees, we can provide a waiver for you to sign.
